Our integrated AquaLOG data logger range has been designed for rugged use and all units are fully encapsulated , IP68 rated ,incredibly tough and will survive 10 m immersion in water. Where necessary, inputs are fully protected by over voltage devices as standard. The architecture is based on SDI-12 bus technology allowing any of our SDI-12 sensors or modules to be connected remotely via a simple 3 core cable. This system releases you for the necessity to route all instrument cables to a central logger station, thus eliminating long cable lengths and degradation of instrument signals.

AquaLOG is a brand name to identify our datalogger systems.

Our AquaLOG logger range is a modular SDI-12 bus operation Data logging system, specifically designed for demanding Civil, Geotechnical and Environmental projects. The range is IP68 rated and fully encapsulated.

Our AquaLOG range is particularly innovative and is significantly cheaper and more versatile than other data loggers.

The majority of data loggers in our industry require that you connect instruments to a central data logger location. These loggers systems have input multiplexers close connected to the logger. Unfortunately, this results in long individual cable lengths or connection to long and large multicore cables resulting in signal degradation and complexity in installation.

Our integrated AquaLOG system  allows you to connect Analogue and Vibrating wire multiplexer modules, and SDI-12 sensors, via a simple 3 core cable up to  250 metres distant from the logger unit.  Up to 52 number of these modules or SDI-12 Sensors can be connected .

The savings in cable costs alone, typically on a dam instrumentation project, far exceeds the costs of the logger system! All data transmitted from modules or SDI-12 sensors are in digital string format preserving the integrity of data.

Although many instruments can be connected to our vibrating wire and AquaDAT multiplexer modules, each of these multplexer modules counts as one SDI-12 node.

Any SDI-12 sensor may be connected to the logger unit, including our AquaBAT water level logger with our SDI-12 fibre optic header unit. We are developing a range of SDI-12 sensors, please see our SDI-12 Sensor page for current availability.

Logger System with radio modem

AquaLOG logger and communication module.

The Aqualog stores data and controls logging strategies to SDI-12 instruments and our SDI-12 modules. Data can be transmitted from the AquaLOG via a variety of modems,( GSM, GPRS, Zigbee mesh networks, RS232 or radio). Triggers can be set within the unit allowing data transmission or alerts to be transmitted in a variety of formats. The unit has exceptional low power characteristics and is suitable for long term operation under 12 V power.

100 x 4000 table format data storage.

Full EMF protection.

4 Alarm ports.

IP68 protection and fully encapsulated.

AquaDAT analogue module.

The AquaDAT is an 8 differential or 16 single ended analogue input interface unit with SDI-12 communications. Any number of AquaDAT units may be connected to the AquaLOG logger. The AquaDAT energises and reads virtually all analogue instruments which are resistance, voltage, pulse or current output based.

VW-108 8 channel vibrating wire SDI-12 multiplexerVW-108 module

The VW-108 multiplexer supports 8 vibrating wire inputs and 8 thermsitor inputs, and is a self contained unit with in-built excitation for vibrating wire sensors. The unit communicates via SDI-12 to the AquaLOG logger. Any number of VW-108 units may be connected to the AquaLOG unit. The VW-108 is available in two configurations, either as a panel mounted unit (illustrated) suitable for use in a gauge house enclosure, or as a fully encapsulated style similar to the AquaLOG and AquaDAT units.

MUX-32, Vibrating wire multiplexer

The MUX-32 is a 32 channel multiplexer (32 x 2 , 16 x 4) specifically for use with vibrating wire instruments. The MUX-32 is IP68 rated and is fully encapsulated. The unit is powered and controlled by the VW-101 (see below) and up to 4 MUX-32 units may be connected. All inputs are fully protected from indirect lightning strikes as standard by  gas discharge tubes. This unit has exceptionally low power requirements, since it is only energised for relay activation and relays are designed as latch relays.

Up to 4 MUX-32 may be connected to the VW-101
All inputs fully protected with GDTs
Fully encapsulated and IP68

MUX-32

VW-101 SDI-12 Vibrating wire Excitation unit.

The VW-101 is designed for the excitation of all vibrating wire instruments. The unit drives up to 4 MUX-32 units, and many VW-101 units may be connected via an SDI-12 bus to an AquaLOG data logger situated up to 250 m distant from the logger, resulting in significant savings in cable costs on any monitoring project. The unit has low power consumption and is fully encapsulated to IP68. The excitation circuit automatically determines the frequency of the vibrating wire gauge and then supplies the exact frequency excitation to the gauge without any set up routines in software. All vibrating wire operations are sent and received as a frequency signal and then transmitted via the SDI-12 bus in digital form. As there are no analogue signal stages involved in the operation, the unit has exceptional resistance to signal corruption from external EMF.
